Mercedes-Benz India’s first quarter sales hit records high-end models, high record on EVS demands

German luxury car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz said the first quarter sales in India have increased from 10% to 4,238 units due to the strong demand for high-end models and electric vehicles (EVS).

Demand for luxury models in the world’s third car market has been steadily increasing over the past few years as fast economic growth has created an attitude towards your younger generation of luxury purchases.

The sales of luxury cars are less than 1% of India’s 4 million units-year markets.

Santosh Iyer, CEO of Mercedes-Benz India, said, “Our focus has been on strengthening the top-end luxury.

Sales of top-end models such as S-Class and Mercedes-Mebatch Portfolio increased by 20% from April to June, while EV sales increased by two times by 8% of the total sales of Mercedes-Benz India.

The core segment of Mercedes, which includes C and E-Class Sedan and GLC and GLE sports utility vehicles, increased by 10% in the quarter. These cars have 60% of the company’s total sales in India. Mercedes is at the forefront of selling luxury vehicles in India, followed by Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) owned by BMW and Tata Motors. It produces and combines a handful of models with some EVs from the Chakp factory in the state of Maharashtra in the Western state.
